It's all falling into place...

Wow, things are finally starting to feel normal to me.  This house is starting to feel like our home and I'm getting more comfortable with the area.  I even took a day trip with the kids (no Aaron) on Sunday to Potomac Mills Mall, had to drive on the highway and all.  We had a lot of fun.

Aaron starts his new job on Monday (finally).  As wonderful as it has been having Aaron home all the time for the past month or so, Piper and I no longer have a schedule.  Makes my days (and me) kind of crazy.  Add to that moving, and constant outings to learn the area and taking care of everything else (cars, licenses, doctors, etc) we have been, well, crazy.  I know I am going to miss having him home to talk to and help me all day.  I am torn about loosing him as my shopping partner, though I know he won't mind not going out with me.  He hates shopping, and spending money even more.  I love shopping and spending money, though I do try to be very thrifty.  I am the queen of sales.   But I do look forward to getting back on a schedule and finish setting up the house how I really want it.

Today, I had lunch with a friend from Connecticut, who actually lives literally across the road from us.  It was so wonderful having lunch with Felicia and her cutie Isa, I look forward to getting together with her again soon. I also had my emissions and safety check done on the van.  I was worried, but Aaron had replaced my catalytic converter last week and I passed with flying colors.  Wahoo.  Now we can go and get my van registered in Virginia and once our marriage license gets here from Washington I can get my new drivers license.  Kind of weird to think about since I've always had a Washington state drivers license.

I have two big projects planned.  The first is to refinish my dining room table.  I am really excited to get this done.  I have been wanting to do this for awhile and finally got the paint I need.  And the second is to get Piper to sleep in her own crib.  I am really done with co-sleeping.  I know she is ready to sleep in her own bed, especially since she gets annoyed in the middle of the night and pushes away from me, thank goodness we have a king size bed and there is plenty of room. She has also taken to only napping if we hold her.  Not fun at all.  So, I plan to start this week.  I am excited and think it's going to be really good for both of us, well, Aaron too.

Parker is doing well in school and has made some friends. Luckily a few kids close to us also skate but he does really miss his friends. I think he misses having places close to skate too.

Piper is growing in leaps and bounds.  We are pretty sure she"ll be walking soon and is mimicking everything we say.  Parker is currently trying to teach her to say "Chill".  It will be very bad for him if she does.

  1. Ba ha ha, I can just imagine Piper saying 'Chill' to you in the middle of nursing. And then you will get the stinkeye at Parker, and he will say 'Listen to Piper, Mom-CHILL'. And then all holy hell will break loose-with good reason!!! Miss you, Misty Doo!!
